About The Counsellor

Sidney Liane

My name is Sidney Liane. I was born and raised in Cameroon. I studied Management at the university of Yaoundé 2 Soa, in Cameroon

In college, I was committed to inform my fellow students about every opportunity available for them, which drove me to create and run a university newspaper for two years. The FACAIR newspaper became a reference for students to find information about scholarships and internships.

My first job after college was the Art Director for a communication company in Douala.. In that position, I was able to lead a great team of creative minds. Together, we worked on numerous projects. I’m particularly proud of the work we did for the Cameroonian Energy Ministry. We were in charge of their communication for three years.

After my time in Douala, I moved to Japan where I worked for a used car company as a Sales Representative. My mission was to find new customers from Africa interested in Japanese cars and car parts. We were able to grow our portfolio from five to thirty-seven African dealerships to whom we provided cars and car parts.

Having lived in the United States for seven plus years, I’ve had the opportunity to work for several companies with amazing experiences. However, the opportunity to go back and study career counseling is by far the best decision I’ve made.

My experience living in several continents, working in different fields combine with the knowledge acquired during my training, gives me the hindsight necessary to conduct proper career counseling.
